Ways to develop research and artistic collaborations with NVI

NVI develops collaborations in several forms: joint artistic research, external method cases, institute-initiated inquiries, commissioned or co-produced works, comparative studies, mechanism research, and institutional testing. Collaborators may contribute an existing practice, a research question, a technical or scientific field, a community context, or an institutional environment. NVI does not require every collaboration to begin from its founding corpus. New research may originate from the questions and practices of external collaborators.

NVI welcomes enquiries from cultural institutions, universities, foundations, research groups, civic organisations, and selected companies whose questions intersect directly with value, judgment, legitimacy, labour, technology, ecology, or institutional design. Collaborations begin from a defined research question rather than a generic application of NVI’s methods. Detailed research procedures, test designs, and partner-specific findings are developed within defined collaborations and are not presented as universal public toolkits.
